In this class, your learner will learn a little bit about groundhog day and groundhogs. Then we will listen to and discuss Groundhog Day which was written by the teacher. It is a story about a groundhog waking up to go predict the weather. Learners will take turns discussing the story and the pictures. Then the learners will make a groundhog puppet. Then each learner will be able to introduce their favorite teddy bear and talk about what they want at the teddy bear picnic. At the end of class, the learners will do a fun teddy bear picnic movement song with their bears.
Please print the groundhog puppet handout and cut it out before class. Bring something to color your puppet.
