Class Experience

Will the groundhog see his shadow this year?
Each year in the United States and in Canada they celebrate Groundhog Day on February 2nd. If the groundhog sees his shadow, it means Spring is almost here. But if his shadow he sees, it makes Spring is almost here!
In this class, we will learn about Groundhog Day, make predictions, talk about the weather and how shadows are made. Students will learn how to draw a groundhog and add details with either sun or clouds.
They will also learn a song about Groundhog Day.

Learning Goals

Students will learn about Groundhog Day, make predictions, discuss the weather and what creates shadows. Students will also follow step-by-step directions as they draw their own groundhog.
