Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 3
Each week in this on-going class we will learn multiple gross facts, write those gross facts and learn the parts of each sentence. After each sentence, we will take a break from writing and we will draw a picture depicting the gross fact we just learned. I will provide printouts each week with new, exciting and disgusting facts. Students will be able to take their time, discuss and create at their own pace. This class is great for students just learning to write and students who need some penmanship practice. Students will learn nouns, verbs, adjectives, punctuation and capitalization. The class is a relaxed environment where discussion is encouraged (but never required) and where students will feel comfortable asking questions both to myself and to their fellow classmates. All skill and knowledge levels are welcome to join in at any time!

Hi! I love to teach classes that are fun and promote discussion and creativity. In all of my classes I mix critical thinking with out of the box thinking so that the kids learn something brand new! I find the best way to do this is by using books, video games, trivia and other interactive components to keep them engaged and wanting to learn.

My passion for critical thought stems from my degree in Philosophy. The integration of pop culture in my classes is rooted in a lifetime of toy collecting, video game playing, and during my time as a staff writer for an online comic book review site. Over the past five years I have created community-based, pop-up craft classes for parents and children that integrate culture and thought, and I am excited about the opportunity to share these types of activities with my students!

Outside of teaching I enjoy spending time with my husband, son, two cats and puppy! I love online gaming and spending a lot of time crafting.
