In this ongoing class, students will learn basic Zumba, hip-hop, and dancehall moves. Our learning goals will be focused on body awareness, body part isolation, and coordination. My teaching style is fun, inclusive, and high-energy. We will always start class with a warmup and stretching sequence. After our warm-up, the bulk of the class is dedicated to learning different dance moves. Sometimes I call the moves by their original names but oftentimes I'll make up a new name that's more kid-friendly. We'll put the moves of the day together in a simple sequence. There's no pressure for students to be in sync with each other or the music. This class is geared towards beginner dancers and learners who just want to have a fun time and get a good workout in the process! I don't teach any advanced dance moves or choreography. I keep it sweet, simple, and sometimes a little silly :) At the end of class, they'll have the opportunity to dance their hearts out during our freestyle dance party. During most of the class, students will be muted. This helps with the sound quality and for the video to always be on the teacher so everyone can view the steps at all times. There are no requirements or previous experience needed for this class.
