Class Experience

In this ongoing class, your learners will be nonstop moving and grooving to the beat. This is a high-energy dance and fitness class aimed to show your kiddos how to have a fun time with dance!

This class is a great way for ESL learners to practice English in action. They can practice conversation at the beginning and end of class. During class, they’re able to apply the vocabulary they’re learning in real-time. Examples of vocabulary words they’ll learn are body parts and direction.

My teaching style is fun, inclusive, and high-energy.

We will always start class with a warmup and stretching sequence.

After our warm-up, the bulk of the class is dedicated to learning different dance moves inspired by old-school hip hop and breakdance moves. Sometimes I call the moves by their original names but oftentimes I'll make up a new name that's more kid-friendly. I occasionally incorporate jazz dance techniques into choreography as well.

We'll put the moves of the day together in a simple routine. There's no pressure for students to be in sync with each other or the music. This class is geared towards beginner dancers and learners who just want to have a fun time! I don't teach any advanced dance moves or choreography. I keep it sweet, simple, and sometimes a little silly :)

We'll then finish the class with a freestyle dance party.

I use original hip-hop music as well as Disney and Kidzbop tunes. I screen all music prior to placing it on my playlist.

During class, students will be muted. This helps with the sound quality and for the video to always be on the teacher so everyone can view the steps at all times. There will be limited verbal interaction between students. We will have moments during warm-ups and freestyle dance where students will be able to unmute. At the end of class, they're welcome to ask questions.

*Great option for those that homeschool looking for arts or P.E. option as it fulfills all of the requirements for P.E. standards. Also great for those looking for extra-curricular or weekend activities!
