In this class, learners will identify traits that make them amazing!!! We'll start off with a breathing exercise and warm up stretch to bring our focus to our class. We'll then brainstorm different qualities we like about ourselves. I'll begin by giving examples of my own. Then I'll explain what affirmations are and how to create their own. After they've created their affirmation, we'll draw ourselves being or doing the thing that makes us amazing. We'll then finish with another stretching sequence & guided meditation. My teaching style is to use short activities in rotation to keep the children engaged. I try my best to read the students' energy levels and responses to decide if a particular activity is suitable for them at the moment. During class, students will be muted. This helps with the sound quality and for the video to always be on the teacher so everyone can view the steps at all times. There will be verbal interaction between students throughout the class so it's helpful that they know how to unmute themselves or someone is present to do it for them. There is no previous experience needed for this class and it can be taken as many times as the learner desires. :)
Learning Goals
Students will learn what an affirmation is and how to use it. They will also learn useful breathing techniques and seated yoga poses.
