Students will learn the role of adjectives. They will identify different types of adjectives. We will play a game to practice describing with different kinds of adjectives. Students will use adjectives to describe The Grinch. They will learn about adjectives by relating them to the book by Dr. Seuss, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. No follow-up homework is assigned. Learners will be evaluated through teacher observation, playing the game, and by completing the class sheet.
I am offering this class to give younger students a fun way to understand adjectives, thus making the topic more memorable. By learning about this part of speech through a game and a famous book and character students can experience the usefulness of adjectives and how authors have utilized them.
1 file available upon enrollmentStudents should print the Grinch worksheet and write on it with their preferred writing implement. The act of writing imprints information better.
