In this small group introductory immersion class learners will be able to introduce themselves and greet others in Spanish facilitated by a native speaker teacher using conversational prompts, songs, and interactive activities.

Class Experience

This is an introductory class for students who have zero or very limited experience with speaking Spanish. Learners will be taught in an immersive setting with a powerpoint. Realia, body language, change of voice, and visual aids will be used to emphasize the target vocabulary and phrases. 
The topics covered in this introductory class will be:
Hello
Whats your name?
My name is_____
Good morning, afternoon, night.
How are you?
I am happy, hungry, angry, fine.
Big and small.
Cat and dog. 
Learners will be provided opportunities to talk to each other and the teacher in the target language via role-play and task-oriented activities.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to introduce themselves and answer how they are doing. They will also be able to ask others how they are doing and their names.

Hello, my name is Stephanie. I live in the sunny state of Florida. I have been working in the public school system for over ten years.  My have my bachelor's degree in business administration. I enjoyed helping, teaching, and assisting others learn new things that I went back to get my Masters of Education from the University of Central Florida. I hold my teaching certificate in the state of Florida and I am certified in Elementary Education K-6 and Middle Grades Math 5-9. I am also ESOL endorsed by my state.   

I worked for many years in the business sector then moved to education. I have taught Language Arts, Reading, and Math at the middle school level. Before working as a teacher I worked as a bilingual aide for ELL (English Language Learner) students in the public school. I also have experience teaching Spanish and English as a second language. 

I am a native Spanish speaker. I spent my early childhood growing up in Mexico and frequently visited during the summers. I enjoy sharing my first language with others as it opens the door to exploring and understanding other cultures and the diversity surrounding us.
