Wild Animal Science: The Green Sea Turtle (Ages 8-10)

In this popular animal science class, students will learn facts about Green Sea Turtles. We will explore and compare the habitat, characteristics, diet, family group and conservation status of Green Sea Turtles. I will be using a presentation created using photo slides and asking interactive questions that will also integrate elements of geography, math and vocabulary into an animal science lesson designed to motivate natural curiosity. 1. Students will learn facts about the physical characteristics of the Green Sea Turtle such as size, diet, habitat and characteristics. 2. Students will learn how scientists use these characteristics to compare and classify a species like Green Sea Turtles. 3. Students will learn why conservation of Green Sea Turtles is so important and what is being done to prevent the extinction of this species. 4. Students will learn new vocabulary words related to the study of the Green Sea Turtle and their ocean habitat.
