Class

Average rating:5.0Number of reviews:(405)
In this single intro class, students will learn about the birth of Hercules and several adventures in his early years, his father Zeus, and the beginning of his relationship with his stepmother Hera.

Class experience

US Grade 3 - 6
Students will learn about Hercules, Zeus, and Hera with a focus on Hercules. They will learn new vocabulary like: Pantheon, lyre, chariot, and serpent; all with visual prompts and cues. Students will have the opportunity to draw, speak, and question with a focus on comprehension skills and critical thinking.
I've been teaching the Labors of Hercules story to learners in China for several years now and it remains a favorite of many of my students. I have performed Euripides (Medea) on stage in the past and am currently a voice over actor, so my storytelling is quite practiced. Ultimately, I've a great passion for Greek Literature and aspire to inspire this passion to ignite in the hearts of others.

In this section, Hercules does kill several snakes and later kills a band of Minyans. One story that will not be told in this class is the tale of the Madness of Hera where Hercules kills his wife and children. We will stop just short of this particular event.

Profile
I'm happy to share my passion for Greek Mythology, Shakespeare, Jules Verne, J.R.R. Tolkien, or explore and develop a student's interest in literature. As an actor, I've had the pleasure of exploring and performing in traditional Greek Theater,...
