Class Experience
When a student takes this class they can expect a fun and interactive journey through the story of how Hercules fetched the Golden Apples of the Hesperides. Class will first begin with a short meet-and-greet. Once acquainted, we will delve into a dramatic telling of some of Hercules' exploits. Images and some video will be shared to help bring the story to life and as the storyteller, my goal will be to use my theatrical and voice-artist background to make the tale memorable. Students will learn about Hercules, Eurystheus, Copreus, Ares, Athena, Hera, Zeus, Cycnus, Busiris, Prometheus, Atlas and his daughters the Hesperides. Students will be encouraged to speak, ask questions, and be questioned themselves with a focus on comprehension skills and critical thinking.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
