50 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
US Grade 3 - 6
In this one-time, 50 minute class, learners will be exposed to the mythological Titans of Ancient Greece. They will learn their names, where they fit into a family structure, and what makes each Titan unique. We will have an open structure class so that once a Titan is identified and described, there will be time for learners to ask a couple of questions about them. There is a follow-up ongoing class available for learning more about the individual interactions of the Titans with gods and goddesses and with the people on earth in the mythological Greek stories, but this class is an introduction to the Titans. Learners need only bring themselves and a mind ready to learn about these fascinating beings.
Learning Goals
Learners will know more about the Titans of Ancient Greek Mythology.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
There will be minimal talk of the castration of Uranus as well as talk of battles and weapons. We will spend minimal time on those topics, but the stories would be incomplete without some mention. There will also be images of statues portraying the Ancient Greek Titans, but I will try to crop them so that nothing sensitive is shown.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Sources
The Greek Myths Complete Edition by Robert Graves is a main source of information along with several websites including greekmythology.com and my own knowledge and study.
