Long ago, before the Greek Gods ruled from Olympus, another group of Gods and Goddesses had control over the Earth. These Gods and Goddesses were known as, the Titans. In this ongoing class, students will be introduced to different Titans from Greek mythology each week. Students will discuss the myths related to the Deities of the week, learn about the events that inspired them (if applicable), learn about their influence on society, and talk about how the myths could be translated to modern society. This class will be delivered as a lecture, and have discussion elements. The schedule for the weeks is as follows: Session 1 (Fridays at 6:00 PM EST) 9/24: Kronos and Brothers 10/1: Oceanus and Tethys 10/8: Hecate 10/15: Atlas and Pleione 10/22: Helios 10/29: Prometheus and Epimetheus 11/5: Selene 11/12: Eos 11/19: Styx
Learning Goals
Students will learn about the Titans and Myths of Ancient Greece, and will draw parallels to modern times.

Greek Myths often discuss violent action scenarios, death, infidelity, and LGBTQA+ themes.
External Resources
