Class Experience

Long ago, before the Olympians and Titans, another group of Gods and Goddesses had control over the Earth. These Gods and Goddesses were known as the Primordial Gods. In this ongoing class, students will be introduced to different Gods and Goddesses from Greek mythology each week, and their roles in the Orphic Theogonies. Students will discuss the myths or events related to the Deities of the week, learn about the events that inspired them (if applicable), learn about their influence on...

Students will learn about the Primordial Gods and Goddesses from Greek Mythology.

I have an IDS BA in Modern Languages and Literature, Communication, and Digital Media. I have taken college courses on the Classics for my major, and am familiar with Greek mythology.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

Greek Myths often involve violent action/war scenarios, death, infidelity, and crimes/revenge. These will only be touched on as a part of the myth plots, and questions will be handled in an age-appropriate manner. If questions extend beyond the scope of the class, learners can follow up with guardians.
