This one-time, 50 minute class will start with an overview of where mythology fits among other types of folklore, like legends and folk tales. 

Then, we'll overview the iconic gods, goddesses, and stories of Ancient Greece and Rome. We'll touch on how the themes of these stories reflect daily life, culture, and religion.

We'll use movie clips to compare modern renditions of famous Greek and Roman myths, and discuss the lasting influence of these myths in other fields, like astronomy....
