Come join us as we explore and learn about these and many other stories of gods, goddesses, and creatures of Greek mythology! In this class, through the use of class forum discussion, audio-video materials, readings and close reading comprehension questions, students will read, write and interact with Greek myths! Students will be able to read, comprehend and apply concepts of mythology across cultures.
I am offering this class as it is a fun and engaging way of looking at Greek classic literature, including mythology! As a 7-12th grade English certified teacher I have experience with using mythology, fairy tales, fables and folk tales to introduce concepts of reading comprehension and literary analysis.
Each week students will receive a reading, comprehension and extension activity. We do many STEM activities, however they are optional!
Teacher will provide learning materials in PowerPoint or Google Doc
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Learner progress is assessed through participation in the classroom forum and completion of assignments.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
