Each session will focus on a mythological character or story, with learners engaging with the topic through different fun activities - all while practising their Ancient Greek alphabet and vocabulary skills.
Class experience
The wonderful world of Greek mythology contains countless exciting, dramatic, and intriguing stories and characters. In this class we will focus on a different one each week, doing a range of fun activities to engage with the story - from gap fills and drawing, to map reading and character trees. Students will gain a familiarity with the Ancient Greek alphabet and will deepen their understanding of Greek mythology.
I achieved A* in both my Latin and Ancient Greek GCSEs and A Levels (British high school exams for 16 year olds and school leavers respectively). These exams featured complex language and literature components. I continued my study of these ancient civilisations at university. I have two degrees from the University of Cambridge (a Master's and First Class BA in History) - in both degrees I took papers on Ancient Rome and Greece, further adding to my classical education. I also have experience of teaching introductory Latin to 10/11 year olds, giving me teaching experience alongside my strong academic record.
