Class Experience

US Grade 4 - 6
During this one time course, learners will practice Greek & Latin roots related to numbers while playing a fun game. The roots learners practice in this class will help improve their math vocabulary and understanding of various mathematical concepts. Most students enjoy the game format and don't even realize how much they're learning. In this class, I use a GimKit game called Trust No One, which is similar to Among Us. Two teams, the cremates and the imposters battle it out to gain control of the spaceship. Learners must answer academic questions correctly to earn points. Once learners have accumulated points, they can run investigations to determine who is an imposter. Imposters use their points to try to hide among the crew mates.

The teacher will lead the game to help get learners started, but once learners are comfortable, they have the opportunity to show leadership skills with their teammates.

Learning Goals

Learners will be able to identify Greek & Latin roots in mathematical vocabulary.
