Class Experience

WebQuests are an excellent way for learners to explore a subject with exciting themes! They will be empowered to make choices while challenged to gather information in an organized manner to create an in-depth presentation.

The teacher will explain the WebQuest and the tasks in the introduction video. Please see the syllabus.

Templates for the profile sheets and journal-style explanatory essays will be provided in Google Slides and printable pdf format.

The main landing page in the class with be a teacher-created Google Website.  Students will click links that will take them to various articles about Greek Mythology.  All material has been vetted. No logins or accounts are required when accessing the links in the WebQuest.  Please see the external resources and sources section of this listing for more details. 

As a self-paced course, it is totally up to you how long it takes you to finish the tasks.  You can do all 4 tasks in a day, spread them out over a week, or do 1/week. It is recommended to do 1 god per week, completing all 12 Olympian Greek Gods in 12 weeks.  

Since the class is self-paced, there are no live meetings.

We welcome any work to be shared, questions, and comments at any time.  We will get back to you within 24 hours, oftentimes within an hour or two. 

**Please note that Greek Mythology graphics occasionally include pictures of nudity, including genitalia. Parental discretion is advised.**

Syllabus

Lesson 1:
Getting Started
 The teacher will introduce themself in a video presentation. In the same video, the teacher will show the WebQuest and how to use it, beginning the journey into Ancient Greek Mythology. The teacher will explain each task as it is laid out in the WebQuest.  

The WebQuest URL will be shared.
The Google Slides of Gods' Profiles will be shared.
The Google Slides of God's Journal Entries will be shared.

Research and task completion will begin. All 12 gods will be completed with the same material.

Learners will be provided links to click that will take them to various articles about Greek Mythology on the WebQuest to access research material. This will be reading only. No accounts or signing-in will be required. Pre-Requisites
Some use of Google Slides is encouraged, as templates are given in Google Slides format. However, they can also be downloaded as PDFs and printed.
Supply List
Learners will need to access Google slides, and web links.  Learners who would like to work with pencil and paper should download the material as PDF and print.
