- New Class Discount Code GRACE5PAO215 - In this ongoing course kids will sing the Greek alphabet song, search for letters on a page as we read a book, and also listen to fun Greek songs. Each week is it's own stand alone 4 letters in the alphabet so you can join anytime. We will start off by watching a Greek Alphabet video and using it to learn the first five letters: Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, and Epsilon. We will then search for a different letter each day of class until we get through...
1. Learn how to identify 4 new Greek letters a week. 2. Learn what Greek letters sound like. 3. Gain some happy memories about Greek so that future studies are easier.
I have my Masters Degree in Teaching (English as a Second Language). I have been teaching Second languages for the past 11 years. I also have multiple certifications for teaching second languages. I am not an expert at Greek but I have studied Greek for 3 years and teaching the alphabet is right in my wheelhouse and I have been teaching it for the last year and a half.
The homework in this class is not required, but it is HIGHLY recommended if you want your child to be able to learn what this class is teaching. It shouldn't take any more than 10 minutes a week. The homework will include some of the following: 1. Watching videos 2. Coloring sheets 3. Letter search sheets 4. Reading books
None of these are required but they will definitely help your learner learn Greek The books I will be using the most are: 1. I Love My Mom: English Greek Bilingual Book 2. Cousins Forever - Ξαδέρφια για πάντα: Α bilingua Greek Bilingual Books But any Greek language books you have will suit for our purposes(reading books in English or Greek and letting them see/find Greek letters).
Students will be asked to find letters during class and practice saying them with the teacher. There will be no formal assessments.
1 hour 20 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
