* This class is designed for students in 5th, 6th, and 7th grades. In this class, students will learn how to find the GREATEST COMMON FACTOR for a pair of numbers and how the GCF is used to simplify fractions. The teacher will model how to find the greatest common factor using factors and prime factorization. The teacher will model how to use the GCF to simplify fractions. Students will be given an opportunity to practice finding the GCF and simplify fractions with guidance. Prerequisite skills needed: Understanding of prime numbers Know basic multiplication facts.
