The Great Apes are named for having larger bodies and brains than other primates. Like Lesser Apes, the Great Apes are active during the day. There are four types of Great Apes – the orang-utans, gorillas, chimpanzees and humans. In this class, your learners will study a range of topics related to the Great Apes, including: - Biodiversity; - Communication; - Conservation; - Evolution; - Intelligence; - Genetics; - History; - Future; - Our relationship with them as humans from our origins to today. No prior knowledge is required for this class.
Learning Goals
In this class, learners will study a range of topics related to the Great Apes, including biodiversity, communication, conservation, evolution, intelligence, genetics, & our relationship with them as humans from our origins to today.
They will learn several scientific terms and expand their knowledge regarding the origins of intelligent life on Earth.

Parental Guidance
- I will use Google Slides to screen share information during the live classes.
- Learners will not need to access the internet outside of Outschool for this course.
- The Scientific Method is used in this class, as is the Theory of Evolution, amongst other widely accepted forms of evidence.
