Description
Class Experience
Adventure photography is one of the most vibrant, thrilling and cutting-edge genres within the art form. As adventure and travel photographers, we capture striking images while simultaneously having the time of our lives doing something super cool. When it's all over, we have our photographs to remind us of the awesome adventures we had and the amazing places we saw. In this weekly Adventure Photography Society, we will explore a wide variety of photographic concepts and complete matching...
Students will learn technical and conceptual skills while also learning how to apply them to the unique world of adventure and travel photography.
For 20 years, I have travelled the world pursuing adventure photography while hiking, climbing, biking, snowboarding, skateboarding and paddling. In my current role as photographer and videographer with two non-profits, I work to produce exciting content celebrating our natural world and the human connection to nature.
The student will receive a different assignment each week that will give them an opportunity to explore new ideas and create fresh images. Although the students will pursue their assignments on their own, they will be able to communicate with each other through our class page. During each week's meeting, time will also be allotted for the students to present their work to each other and discuss their process and results as a group.
As a group, we will assess the results of each week's assignment based on foundational photographic principals, artistic concepts and the skill being practiced.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
