In this one-time class, we will look at the importance of living life focused on gratitude. We will then practice this skill with a fun, interactive scavenger hunt around your house.

When you live your life from a place of gratitude you are able to find joy every day. Unfortunately, this is not something that comes naturally to many people. It's a skill that must be learned and practiced so it can be a part of your life experience. In this class, students will:
1. understand what gratitude is
2. recognize the positive impact gratitude can have on their life
3. engage in a fun, social, interactive game focused on seeking gratitude ("Gratitude Scavenger Hunt")I have a Masters of Education in Adolescent Risk and Prevention (Harvard University) and a Masters of Social Work in Child and Adolescent Therapy (University of Michigan). I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (Florida) and have worked with children and adolescents in schools, residential facilities and psychiatric hospitals. I have worked with children and adolescents as a coach, therapist, mentor, trainer and teacher focusing on areas of: behavior modification, mental attitude, emotion regulation, personal growth and achievement.
A notebook and pencil/pen for taking notes is all that is needed. For the Gratitude Scavenger Hunt game, students will be given a category and then asked to look for something in their house that represents that category. The spontaneity of the game is what adds to the fun, but if your child feels uneasy with this format, please let me know and I can individually send you the list of categories in advance.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
