Class Experience

In this 30-minute one-on-one class, your learner will have the opportunity to discuss and write about 3-5 things that they are thankful for. We will focus on looking for the good things in life!

We will discuss the importance of looking for and focusing on the positive people, things, and situations in life. Oftentimes, we focus on the larger things, such as a special family member, doing great on a test, and accomplishing a big goal. Bur, we will also talk about the little things, such as giggling with a friend over a silly joke, wearing their most comfortable hoodie all day, and watching a flock of birds soar over the yard.

The writing expectations will vary according to the learner. The youngest learners may simply draw a picture of their list. Some learners may benefit from listening their 3-5 things, and then drawing a picture for each. Others might choose to write a full paragraph.

Learning Needs
As a mother of an amazingly autistic teen, I understand and strongly believe that all learners need to feel safe and comfortable. Before class, if there is anything I should know that would help your learner succeed, please let me know!
Supply List
Learners may want to have a specific place to write their gratitude journal entries, such as a journal or notebook. Learners are also welcome to bring notebook paper, if that is easier. Don't forget a couple of writing tools and erasers, too.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
