In this three day journaling camp students will practice mindful explorations to develop introspection and learn how they can apply gratitude in their own lives.
Class experience
During this 3 day camp students will discover that gratitude can be found EVERYWHERE, that regardless of the situations in which we find ourselves there is always something for which to be grateful. Students will meet individuals through video testimony for whom gratitude would appear to be impossible, all of whom are victims and survivors of genocide. After viewing the testimonies students will be asked to reflect upon for what each survivor is grateful, to write about their conclusions,...
Students will: Identify how acknowledging someone's positive impact is a key component of gratitude, and consider the impact gratitude has on our own lives and others. Analyze audiovisual testimony and draw conclusions supported with evidence as to how others' actions evoke gratitude. Reflect on how we can develop and apply gratitude in our own lives. Create a gratitude journal and daily practice to implement gratitude into our lives.
