GRATITUDE and learning to look for the good and POSITIVE in life are skills that need to be practiced daily so that they can become natural! Did you know that gratitude is associated with greater happiness? Gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, improve their health, feel better with themself, and build strong relationships. People feel and express gratitude in multiple ways. They can apply it to the past (retrieving positive memories and being thankful for elements past blessings), the present (daily appreciations), and the future (maintaining a hopeful and optimistic attitude). Learners will be expected to keep a daily gratitude journal and/or thoughts. Each day they will record things that they are grateful for. This can be things from their past, present, or future (something that they are looking forward to). They can also write something positive that happened to them or around them. Each week, the learners will be expected to come to class prepared to share one or more things they recorded in their gratitude journal. Learners can decide which parts of their gratitude journal they are comfortable sharing and which parts they are not, of course. In class, we will talk about what we were grateful for in the week and how it changed our days positively! Meeting together weekly will help us staying grateful for the great things around us, looking for the good, and keep a positive daily attitude. If your learner would like to meet more than once weekly in a different section, they are more than welcome to do so! This is a social class and every one will get an opportunity to share. We may use slides, photos, or videos in class. Looking forward to meeting your learner soon! :)
