Graphic Design Camp | Spring Break Comprehensive | Canva!

In this 3 day comprehensive graphic design camp, we will use Canva to design a variety of graphics while learning to use text, styles, graphics, photos, videos and more while creating spring designs with flowers, butterflies, rabbits, and animals.

Day 1 - Design a spring poster while being introduced to a wide range of Canva features.
Day 2 - Design a spring advertisement while using and being introduced to more Canva features. 
Day 3 - Design a spring shirt design while using a variety of Canva features. 

During this camp we will explore many of the following Canva features: 
Templates - Canva has thousands of free ready-to-use templates for designs.  I will show learners how to access them but we will create our own designs from scratch.  

Elements - Canva has an extensive selection of elements and we will explore many of the various element types and learners will be taught to search for the type of elements that they would like to use.

Text - Canva has a wide range of text styles available. Learners will learn to insert various text types and change font, size, color, and spacing.  
	- Heading
	- Subheading
	- Body text
	- Font Combination
Styles - Canva allows style changes to allow quick designing of the theme for an entire page.  Learners will explore the styles feature. 
	- Color Styles
	- Font Styles
Backgrounds  - Learners will learn how to insert backgrounds and remove image backgrounds.  
Draw - Learners will explore Canva's draw feature to create their own drawings to use in designs.  

In this class, learners will be able to design alongside the instructor to create their own graphic design.  The teacher will screen share a design that she is creating as learners use their creativity to create their own design.  

Parents will need to sign learners up for a free Canva account before class.  Learners will need to be logged into their Canva account prior to the start of class.  (The learners can fully participate in the class with the free account.  The teacher will demonstrate some of the things that can be accomplished with premium features).

Learners will need basic computer skills including an understanding of drag and drop and how to conduct this task on their device.  They will also need to know how to navigate multiple windows if they are using Canva on the same device that they are logged into the classroom.
