Each week we will review a grammar concept (8 parts of speech, types of sentences, punctuation, homophones, prefixes/suffixes, sentence structure, etc.) and create a visual for our interactive grammar notebook. 

This class requires some prep work. Learners will need a composition notebook, scissors, glue, colored pencils/pens, and access to a printer. A weekly pdf will be provided for learners to cut and have ready for class. 

How is the class structured?
The class will start with introductions and an ice breaker activity. Next, I will introduce the topic of the day and we will complete the visual for the day. Learners will have the opportunity to complete tasks related to the topic. At the end of class, we will play a Blooket, Gimkit, or Kahoot game to reinforce what we learned. Blooket, Gimkit, and Kahoot accounts are not required to access the game.

This is an ongoing class and each class stands alone, so learners are welcome to join at any time!

Week of September 30- Helping vs linking verbs
Week of October 7- Prepositions (Location & Relationship)
Week of October 14- Interjections
Week of October 21- Contractions
Week of October 28- Past, Present, & Future Tense Verbs
Week of November 4-  Progressive Verb Tense
Week of November 11- Perfect Verb Tense
Week of November 18- Homophones (heal/heel, principle/principal, through/threw)
Week of November 25- No classes
Week of December 2-  Homophones (affect/effect , accept/except, break/brake)
Week of December 9- Capitalization
Week of December 16- Abbreviations
Week of December 23- No classes
Week of December 30- No classes
