Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 2
In this lesson, learners will have fun listening to a story about a horse who wants to build a flying machine. A beaver comes along and begins to ask all sorts of questions about the machine. WHAT is it? WHO built it? WHEN will it fly? During the story, we will notice all the question words being used. Then we will play an interactive question words game, where the students get to control the screen with their computer mouse or touch pad. Finally, we will make a cool question words craft. The students will need to think of 6 questions using our question words pizza slices to write on the attached pizza printable.

This class is great for children who are just learning about question words, or to provide extra practice for learners who already know about question words. WHEN should we start learning? NOW!
Learning Goals

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! I'm Teacher Shannon! I have taught 2nd grade for 24 years. I've taught both Gifted and Regular Education. I was a substitute teacher for 2 years working with Early Childhood students as well as older elementary students. My passion is reading! I love Children's Literature and I have even co-taught college level students on "What's New In Children's LIterature?" for the last 10 years. What drives me as a teacher is to have a fun, safe, interactive classroom while embracing lots of quality literature. I want kids to love reading as much as I do and to have fun learning! And maybe make a craft or two along the way!
