Grammar Tales: Tillie's Tuba - A Lesson on Adverbs
Class experience
US Grade 1 - 3
In this lesson, learners will have fun listening to a story about a girl named Tillie who plays her tuba loudly, proudly, early, and late. Students will learn all about adverbs in this wacky tale about a girl who just can't put her tuba down! We will also play an interactive adverb game, where the students get to control the screen using their computer mouse or touch pad. Then we will make a Spin-an-Adverb Wheel, changing adjectives into adverbs. Finally, we will watch the short, fun video...
4 files available upon enrollmentStudents will need a printout of the adverb craft. They will also need scissors and a brad paper fastener. If students don't have a brad, they can use a paper clip and bend it to help hold the papers together. See attached picture for example.
We will be using scissors to cut out the adverb craft. Parental guidance is needed, thank you!
We will be reading the book Grammar Tales: Tillie's Tuba by Maria Fleming. We will also watch the School House Rock video on adverbs.
