Grammar Tales: The Planet Without Pronouns! A Lesson on Pronouns
Class experience
US Grade 1 - 3
In this lesson, learners will have fun listening to a story about a boy named Stanley who visits a planet named Krimular. He meets a purple planet filled with friendly, six-armed aliens, but absolutely no pronouns! After the story, we will play an interactive pronoun game, where the students get to control the screen using their computer mouse or touchpad. Then we will make a pronoun craft called My "I is a Pronoun" Phone, instead of a boring iPhone! This class is great for children who...
Students will improve their understanding of pronouns. They will also be able to listen to a story and be able to share pronouns from the story. Finally, students will be able to use real life experience to write sentences using pronouns on a craft.
3 files available upon enrollmentStudents will need the 2 printouts for the craft - My I is a Pronoun Phone page 1 and My I is a Pronoun Phone page 2. (There is a photo of the completed phone for an example, but you don't need to print that out.) Students will also need scissors, tape or glue, and a pencil. Crayons or markers are optional.
Parental guidance needed for when the students use scissors. Thank you!
We will be reading the book The Planet Without Pronouns by Justin McCory Martin.
