Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 2
In this lesson, learners will have fun listening to "Miss Spell and the Evil Dr. ED," a silly grammar story written by me, Teacher Shannon. The evil Miss Spell is back to cause problems for the students of Everyday Elementary, but she's not alone. Will the Evil Dr. ED take away the three sounds of -ed? Let's find out! After the book, we will play an interactive game, where the students get to control the screen using their computer mouse or touchpad. Students will get to practice listening to the three sounds of -ed. Then we will make a sorting craft to further practice the three sounds.

This class is great for children who are just learning about the three sounds of -ed, or to provide extra practice for learners who already know them. Come join us in the classroom!
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding of the three sounds of -ed. They will listen to a story, share words with the sounds from the story, and practice listening to the three sounds during an interactive game. Finally, they will sort -ed words.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! I'm Teacher Shannon! I have taught 2nd grade for 24 years. I've taught both Gifted and Regular Education. I was a substitute teacher for 2 years working with Early Childhood students as well as older elementary students. My passion is reading! I love Children's Literature and I have even co-taught college level students on "What's New In Children's LIterature?" for the last 10 years. What drives me as a teacher is to have a fun, safe, interactive classroom while embracing lots of quality literature. I want kids to love reading as much as I do and to have fun learning! And maybe make a craft or two along the way!
