US Grade 2 - 3
In this lesson, learners will have fun listening to a story about an apostrophe named Alfie. It's time for tryouts for the punctuation talent show, and little Alfie the Apostrophe doesn't think he can beat the "more exciting" marks with his simple magic show (making letters disappear). But in the end, it's Alfie that steals the show! After the story, we will play an interactive contraction game, where the students get to control the screen and find contractions. Then we will make a cool contraction craft. This class is great for children who are just learning about contractions, or to provide extra practice for learners who already know about contractions. Let's start our contraction learning!
Learning Goals
Students will listen to a story and share contractions from it. They will also practice finding contractions during a game. Finally, students will read some contractions in a poem about a whale.
