This club is an exciting way to learn Grammar, Language Arts and Reading! In this ongoing class, your learner will explore the 1st Grade Language Arts standards. Each class will cover a topic and we will learn in fun and engaging ways! Each class will include a Kahoot game, shared screen slideshows, and a printable! *Your learner does need to be able to read to get the most out of this class. We will start off each class with a slideshow from my screen to learn about each topic. During this slideshow, your learner will be asked questions and get to practice the topics that we are learning. Then we will play a Kahoot! game to reinforce the topics that we are learning. Lastly, we will work on the printable together as a class. All of these are different ways to reinforce what we are learning in fun ways! Kahoot! is a big part of this class! This is a hands-on way for your learner to practice what we have covered in class. Kahoot! does work best from a separate device like an Ipad or a phone. But you can also open another tab on your computer screen. The website to log on is www.kahoot.it. You can also download the app. I will give you the game pin when class starts. Some of the topics we will cover include: Nouns, Pronouns, Verbs, Adjectives, Long and Short Vowels, Syllables, Compound Words, Capitalization, Punctuation and more! This is also a great way to develop social skills with your learner and build friendships with other learners in the class. Week 1: Nouns -Common, Proper, Singular, Plural Week 2: Verbs Week 3: Adjectives Week 4: Pronouns Week 5: Long Vowels& Short Vowels Week 6:Capital Letters Week 7:Punctuation Week 8: Syllables & Compound Words Week 9: Simple and Compound Sentences Week 10: Common Conjunctions Week 11: Past, Present and Future Verb Tense Week 12: Understand and Use Question Words Week 13: Contractions Week 14: Verbs- To be Week 15: Noun, Verb & Adjective Sorting Week 16: Synonyms & Antonyms Week 17: Prefixes Week 18: Suffixes Week 19: Homophones Week 20: Commas Week 21: Complete and Incomplete Sentences You can join in at any time! *These lessons will include worksheets and printables to download with each class. This is also a great review for your learner if they just need more practice in grammar. I look forward to having fun learning with your student! *If your learner misses a class, I will send you the recording to watch. I am not able to give a refund for missed classes. Thank you!
