PLEASE NOTE: The first 14 sessions are listed below. Based on the Bernabei method, (Grammar Keepers: Lessons That Tackle Students' Most Persistent Problems Once and for All), along with punctuation and capitalization lessons, this course (and the others offered in the extensive series) will provide a systematic means of learning, understanding, and correctly using the various components of grammar and beyond. Through discussion, example journal entries, students' personal journal entries, and charting (Keepers 101 Chart), students will gain confidence in their grammar, punctuation, and capitalization usage and will build a reference piece that will be useful after the class has concluded. The grammar portions of the first nine sessions are listed below to provide an idea of what to expect. Students should already have a basic understanding of grammar and the ability to journal based upon prompts provided by the teacher. We'll do some quick-writes during our classes to put our lessons into immediate action! These journal entries will be fun topics and will offer us a built-in tool for use in our discussions and practice. This in-class use will also serve as a gauge of student understanding of the class material. The first 14 lessons taught during this ongoing course are as shown below. Many more lessons will be taught after these, and there may be occasional modifications to the schedule as needed. LESSON #1 - Homophones (Common Errors/A) (they're/there/their) (too/two/to) LESSON #2 - Homophones (Common Errors/B) (it's/its) (you're/your) (who's/whose) LESSON #3 - Which Word Do I Use? (Common Errors/C) (who/whom) (we're/were, where) LESSON #4 - Which Word Do I Use? (Common Errors/D) (our/are) (then/than) (a lot) LESSON #5 - Which Word Do I Use? (Common Errors/E) (already/all ready) (less/fewer) LESSON #6 - Which Word Do I Use? (Common Errors/F) (lie/lay) (should've) (used to) LESSON #7 - Which Word Do I Use? (Common Errors/G) (me/I) (accept/except) LESSON #8 - Which Word Do I Use? (Common Errors/H) (loose/lose) (affect/effect) Lesson #9 - Which Word Do I Use? (Common Errors/I) (advice/advise) (road, rode, rowed) Lesson #10 - 10 Rules for Commas (Common Errors/J) Lesson #11 - 5 Rules for Apostrophes (Common Errors/K) Lesson #12 - Quotations and Punctuation in Dialogue (Common Errors/L) Lesson #13 - Capitalization Basics (Common Errors/M) Lesson #14 - Fragments are Illegal (Common Errors/N) Remember, we are all expanding our knowledge together (including the teacher). I'm looking forward to learning with you! Mrs. Rae Marie (M.Ed.) (Writing, Poetry, Fantasy Fiction, ACE Educator)

Teacher expertise and credentials
Master's Degree in Education from LeTourneau University
The lack of grammar understanding is one of the biggest reasons that so many learners don't enjoy writing. I want to help your young writer remove the difficulties that can so easily steal the joy of writing, find his or her confidence as an author, and get those brilliant thoughts and words on paper!
I absolutely love to write and share the joy of writing, and I've taught writing and prepared students for state writing exams for several years. I understand that writing isn't everyone's cup of tea, so I am beyond happy to share some ways to bring your words to the surface. Oftentimes, it's just a matter of sorting out what's happening in your brain and getting it to come out in the right order. I'm here for you!
