In this on-going class, we will work together to learn and understand the rules of grammar. We will use video clips, slides, discussion, and games to understand how language works. Students will play games and interact with each other and the teacher to practice and master grade-level standards. The topics covered will include parts of speech, verb tenses, sentence structure, writing and expanding sentences, punctuation, word meanings, understanding rood words using prefixes and suffixes,...
Learners will improve their understanding of nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, conjunctions, and prepositions. They will develop an understanding of phrases and clauses and how they interact to form sentences.
I am an experienced public school teacher. I have taught reading and writing at all levels from pre-kindergarten through college. I have extensive experience working with struggling learners, and I am well trained in working with learners to identify and overcome their individual challenges in reading and writing.
