Class Experience

Students will be able to independently identify the eight parts of speech.
Students will be able to independently construct sentences using the eight parts of speech.
I have taught middle and high school English for over a decade. I have my B.A. in English Secondary Education, and my M.A. in writing. I currently homeschool my son, who is six years old. We are both gamers at heart and Minecraft has taken over our family.
This class requires these weekly assignments to be done by the following Monday:
1. Complete two sentences for each of the three Minecraft pictures. One sentence requires the student to identify the parts of speech.
2. Reply back to other students' sentences and identify the parts of speech.
3. Take part in the weekly building challenge by either creating a build in Minecraft or creating a challenge for other builders.
4. Comment on building challenges with one positive compliment.
5. Complete Quizlet Quiz
- Minecraft is not required, but there are optional building activities that the students may want to participate in.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
-Quizlet quizzes will be given every week to check if the student understands the parts of speech taught that week.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
