Description
Class Experience
Through pre-recorded teacher lessons, Kahoot!, Jam Board, scavenger hunts, and other activities, learners will be able to use and identify the following forms of grammar in their writing and beyond: articles, conjunctions, five major parts of speech: noun, pronoun, verb, adverb, and adjective; semicolons, apostrophes, and ten forms of figurative language: alliteration, pun, metaphor, hyperbole, allusion, symbolism, cliche, onomatopoeia, personification, and simile.
As this is a flex class, all work completed at the learner's pace. Learners must complete the video lessons and corresponding questions for each class.
Materials needed: -Pen and paper or computer text software for taking notes. -Printer - if learners choose to print certain assignments to turn them in. This is not mandatory. -Craft supplies - as needed for the final project. Materials very depending on the learner's choice of project.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
In the last week of Grammar Geeks learners have the option to partake in a creative project. They will take what they have learned and put it to use. It is not a formal assessment.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
