Grammar and Writing Connection: Write Solid Sentences and Avoid Errors

In this self-paced class, learners will improve their sentence writing skills!  Each lesson includes a pre-recorded video, a homework assignment, and feedback from the instructor.

Human beings do not automatically make the connection between the grammar rules and writing, but this class will make that connection. In each lesson, we will focus on one grammar concept and then immediately apply that rule to writing sentences. Learners will write simple sentences, compound, sentences, and complex sentences. They will understand the rules behind writing sentences and avoiding common sentence level errors such as run-ons and fragments.

This class includes eight lessons. The video portion each lesson is around 8-11 minutes and includes direct instruction and examples to help learners feel comfortable with the topic. Each lesson is followed up with a homework assignment that includes writing actual sentences.  By writing sentences, we are putting into practice the grammar skills we are learning.  Learners can expect feedback from me on each assignment within 1-3 days of submitting the work.  If the learner does one lesson per week, they should be able to finish the course in eight weeks.
