In this ongoing class designed for 3rd and 4th graders, learners will master essential skills in English Language Arts to become proficient with new vocabulary, grammar, communication, pronunciation, writing, spelling, speaking and listening. Over 50 weeks of lessons will cover vocabulary, grammar, spelling, synonyms, antonyms, similes, metaphors, figurative language, plural nouns, irregular verbs, word families, prefixes, suffixes & more! Nearpod is a digital tool that uses slide-based learning resources that are interactive for students to engage with and learn from. Each learner will access their own set of Nearpod slides to participate in the lesson by completing fill in the blank questions, matching activities, multiple choice questions, drawing tasks, responding to open ended prompts and quiz games. Nearpod can also use gamification of information to make learning more engaging and fun. Or, your learner can use a second device. *Leaves of Learning Academy is an organization on Outschool with about 18 teachers. Occasionally, the teacher for this class may not be able to teach and a substitute teacher from the organization will take her place. Only teachers trained to teach this class will serve as a possible substitute for the class. A message will be posted in the Outschool classroom before the class takes place in the event a substitute will be teaching. I am happy to offer a refund to any learner who prefers not to attend the class with a substitute. Please send a message through Outschool in that event and I will issue a refund. This is considered a missed meeting and you are not entitled to a refund. β Refunds are not guaranteed in the event that your learner misses a past or future class meeting due to a schedule conflict, and will depend on the class-specific refund policy. β If your learnerβs meeting time changes because of daylight saving time starting or ending for several world regions, you are not entitled to a refund if theyβre unable to attend. No account is necessary to access Nearpod. Learners will go to the Nearpod website and enter a code I send through the chat to access the class activity.
