What will be taught? -This course introduces and reinforces math concepts for 4th graders through Minecraft-based activities. Students will develop foundational skills in multiplication, fractions, geometry, area, perimeter, and measurement, using Minecraft to visualize and apply these skills in interactive builds and challenges. What topics will be covered? -Multiplication: Practicing multiplication concepts through building farms, trading items, and resource counting. Fractions: Understanding fractions by dividing items, constructing fraction-based structures, and visualizing parts of a whole. -Geometry: Exploring 2D shapes and angles, calculating area and perimeter, and using geometry to create buildings and designs. -Measurement: Measuring objects and distances in Minecraft and learning how to use units of measurement practically. How will we teach? -I’ll guide students in real-time within Minecraft, encouraging them to engage with math concepts through building and problem-solving. Classes are interactive, with clear instructions followed by independent or group activities. I provide hands-on support and adjust the difficulty based on students’ progress. Our teaching style? -My teaching style is student-centered and interactive. I encourage students to ask questions, explore independently, and connect math concepts to the Minecraft world around them. By integrating fun challenges, I make learning math a practical, enjoyable experience. How much will learners get to interact with you? -Lecture: Brief introductions to math concepts are provided at the start. Interactive Games: Minecraft activities form the core of each class, where students actively use math concepts. -Discussions: Each class concludes with a review, allowing students to share ideas, discuss strategies, and ask questions. -Real-Time Feedback: I provide immediate guidance and feedback, ensuring students stay on track and understand the concepts.
