Each week will feature a new spelling list of 12 words. Our first meeting of the week will be on Monday or Tuesday and will feature the introduction of the words. Together will look for patterns and go over spelling rules that may apply to the words in the list. We will also have one or two "outlaw" words every week, that just don't follow any rules. As a classroom teacher, I taught weekly spelling to my classes for 8 years.
Homework will be assigned to help keep students engaged. There will be 3 assignments given so they can complete one each on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Pencil and paper will be required. There will be homework assignments uploaded into the classroom each Monday after class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
