Grade 1 Ballet (Intermediate Level Self-Paced FLEX Dance Course)
Class experience
This 6 Week Flexible Ballet Course is aimed at children aged 8 - 12 years. It is suitable for children who have taken my Primary/Pre-Grade 1 Ballet courses or those with approximately 1-2 years of previous ballet experience. It is ideal for those who cannot attend my live classes or require the flexibility of being able to practice in their own time. A huge advantage to taking a flexible course is the ability to practice the weekly videos over and over. Learners are encouraged to upload...

I have been teaching dance for over 25 years. I am a qualified professional dance teacher holding my Ballet Teaching certificate with the NCDTA (Northern Counties Dance Teachers Association in the UK). I have taught all ages of ballet from young to adult; also training other teachers. I am currently the Children's Program Director of a Dance Studio in the USA. Please ensure children have enough space to move around while following along with the class videos. Remove anything they may bump into or knock down (e.g. your expensive vase!) Class Attire:- Please wear appropriate free-moving clothes e.g. tee-shirt with leggings, leotard and wear either ballet shoes, bare-feet or non-slip dance socks while they are practicing. Check the floor surface isn't slippery. Fitness:- Your child should be in a fit and healthy state. Please check with your doctor if you have any concerns. Barre Work: There is barre work in the Grade 1 Ballet syllabus. Your child does not need a barre for this. They can use an 'imaginary' barre or a chair. Instructional Videos will be uploaded (unlisted) to YouTube. These will be embedded into the Outschool Classroom and do not require you to have a Youtube Account.
