Class Experience
NOTE: Recordings will be anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hr 30 minutes, depending on the content for that week. In the last week, the videos might be less lengthy since we've covered a lot by then. Students will also need to print out their pages at home to follow with me in the video. There are about 3-10 pages to print out each week. If students don’t have access to a printer there will be a digital PDF version for students to download and they may use Kami or any other program that allows...
This class is taught in English.
I have been an elementary school teacher for the past 5 years and every year I complete an interactive notebook with my students because it allows them to engage through the lessons in a fun way.
- notebook - glue (bottled or glue sticks) - printer - scissors - colors (markers, crayons, colored pencils... whatever you prefer them to use!) - copies of the interactive notebook pages
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
At the end of the course, we will have an assessment that I will grade to show mastery using a letter grade.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
The use of scissors is needed for students to be able to cut out the interactive notebook pieces that will be used in each week's activity.
I have researched a lot about government topics we will discuss and with these being the basics of government, our lessons will go through slides that I have developed based on my personal knowledge from college courses I have taken and textbooks I used in my previous classes that were created by professional government and history authors.
