At the beginning of the meeting, we will go over the significant details of each chapter - Students should pre-read the material before class. (I can provide online resources upon student request. If any student needs assistance with reading I can also provide audio). We will break down settings, character development, conflict, story structure, etc. Following this, we will move into a discussion time which will cover topics like symbolism, modern material that was influenced by the story,...
Gaining a better understanding of the text - Character Development, the use of Setting, Symbolism, Etc. As well as have a little fun looking into the life of the author.

Reading chapters before class - This helps the student to be able to engage in each lesson.
If the students would like to borrow the book from their local library they may. Purchasing the book is a plus in the case that they may wish to take notes. 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
As this is a tale written in the 1800s - A time in which death and corruption were a serious influence on the lives of the writers of this time - There will be heated topics such as murder, death, addiction, etc. We will very briefly cover these topics but in a respectful light and with caution.
