Description
Class Experience
In this class, we will be discussing the adventures of Margaret and Casey as they try to figure out what is going on (and going wrong) with their dad's experiments in the basement. Sure, their dad is great at growing plants, but now there seems to be something wrong with dad... It's more than just his thumb that's green! Can they figure out what's going wrong in time to keep their family human? Let's find out together! Class will consist of instructor-directed discussion. Discussion topics...
Education: BA in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Communication and minors in Philosophy and Theology from the University of St. Thomas Experience: More than 7 years as a homeschool parent, more than 30 years of being an avid reader, 3 years of writing fiction while meeting with published authors to discuss different aspects of writing and books, 6 previous high school-level classes taught on this platform in addition to several classes taught on the aspects of writing on Outschool as well as at local libraries for more than 2 years. I am also a Municipal Liaison for the NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) program.
Class 1: Chapters 1-7 (pages 1-45) Class 2: Chapters 8-12 (pages 46-81) Class 3: Chapters 13-21 (pages 82-122)
All students will need a copy of Stay Out of the Basement by R.L. Stine!
2 hours 15 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students who scare easily may not feel comfortable talking about monsters and scary moments brought up through the story.
