Students will be taught how to remove background from a photo of themselves and add them and unicorn images to stunning backgrounds using 45 digital pieces to choose from on a personal digital play mat that can be copied and manipulated in Google Slides. For the best results, choose photos of your whole body sitting or kneeling with no other objects in front of you. This class is not cut and paste with scissors and glue, it is a "digital" art craft. It is technical and requires the student to be able to access the American English version of Google Slides, and use a computer mouse (or touchpad) and keyboard. They will also need to be able to read, locate, and click on words like, "Arrange", "Format options", "Backwards", and "Rotation". I will teach where the Google Slides tools are, what they mean, and how to use them to manipulate the pieces into a personal Unicorn and You photo for you to keep and print in high resolution. Perfect to print enlarged for bedroom wall decoration. Take the class again and again to create new Unicorn and You designs. Hope to see you and your friends soon! BELIEVE!

REQUIRED: Personal images of learner sitting or kneeling in a file ready to insert into Google Slides. * Images MUST be less than 25 megapixels to insert. * 300dpi resolution is preferred. Google Slides (American English Version) - Open and ready to receive your personal play set during class. A desktop computer or laptop and computer mouse for each learner. Please avoid Chromebooks, iPads, and school accounts. SUGGESTED: A large viewing screen.

I have a college degree in Elementary Education with an Art minor. I earned U.S.A. teaching certificates in Hawaii, Arizona, and Utah. I've taught 7th grade English Literature, 5th grade elementary school, after school programs, swimming lessons, summer school, jewelry making, and digital art. I've privately tutored Reading, Writing, Math, and Google Slides Presentations/Slideshows.
I took a break from full-time teaching to raise a family. Currently, I'm a Special Education para-professional and help elementary students with a variety of special needs achieve their goals in both academics and behaviors.
I have lived in Florida, Utah, Hawaii, Arizona, Brazil, and Jerusalem, and explored Egypt, Israel, Canada, Mexico, and many of the United States of America. Other than English I speak a bit of Portuguese, Hawaiian Pidgin English, Pig Latin, and American Sign Language.
I love mind games, word games, illusions, weird facts, current events, children's literature, Adobe Photoshop, old photos, macro photography, art of all kinds, Hawaii, the ocean, sea life, ukulele and guitar music, quilt designs, graphics, flowers, birds, swimming, watercolor, Zentangles, calligraphy, and fonts. For fun I like to freeze dry food, restore old photos digitally in Adobe Photoshop, and create digital art.
