Class Experience
This class will serve as a beginner's guide to using Google Docs and Google Slides. The break-up of content per week is as follows: Google Docs: Week 1- How to get to Google Docs, How to Change Font Size and Color, How to Bold, Italicize, Highlight Week 2- How to Change Alignment, How to Make Numbered and Bulleted lists Google Slides: Week 3- Adding and Deleting Slides, Changing Background, Layout and Theme Week 4- Inserting Images, Presenting Slides, Reordering Slides, Sharing Slides After watching each pre-recorded video, students will be required to perform certain tasks on Google Docs and Google Slides. The documents will be shared by me. As students make changes to the document to practice learned skills, I will be able to provide feedback to the student on the live document. When the student feels they have completed the assignment, they can post it to our classroom wall. The Google Docs and Slides platform allows me to "suggest changes" and add comments to guide students along the way.

Supply List
Students are required to have a Google email (Gmail) before signing up for this class. Feel free to reach out to me for 1 on 1 guidance on how to do this if you need assistance! Students will be required to "file" "make a copy" of Google Docs and Google Slides to show proof of their application of acquired skills! They will "share" their copy to me, so that I can provide feedback on the document. Once it is completed, they will post the Docs and Slides to the classroom for teacher feedback and guidance. Office hours will be available for students who would like face-to-face assistance. Students will need a computer or electronic device to complete this course. If using a tablet or phone I highly suggest downloading the Google Docs and Google Slides app.

Technology is the way of the world. Many children are tech-savvy in ways that will not help propel them into the college world or job force. I want to provide real-world skills to students so that they can be successful in the future! I am also very proficient in technology. I have lead parent seminars on how to use Google products and technology and am a Level 1 Certified Google Educator!
