Class Experience

Google Apps- Docs, Slides, Sheets, Drive, Classroom, Forms, Drawings, Sites, Calendar, Maps, Gmail

In this interactive ongoing class, learners will have the opportunity to explore, create, and receive teacher support and coaching for a variety of apps/programs in the Google system (see list above). Google Apps have become an essential set of technology programs to master for many academic and career pursuits. This club will build learner confidence and proficiency in word processing, slide presentations, spreadsheets, online file management, email, forms/surveys, graphic design, website building, and more - all using the Google system.

During each class session, learners will have the opportunity to work on a Google apps task/project from a choice board provided by the teacher. (Some of these activities can be completed in one class session, while others might require time over a few weeks.) These projects/tasks will guide learners through exploring important features of the Google apps in context, and allow them to showcase their personal interests.
1st Week of the Month - Week 1- Featured app: Google Docs
2nd Week of the Month - Week 2- Featured app: Google Slides
3rd Week of the Month - Week 3- Featured app: Google Drive (encourage learners to organize)
4th Week of the Month Week 4- Featured app: Google Forms (teacher creates a survey for learners to complete to demonstrate how it works)

Learners can ALSO bring school assignments that use Google apps to this class and receive assistance and advice from the teacher.

Time will be provided at the end of each class session for learners to share their work with classmates, if they wish.
